Meds before cardioversion

Just wondering . . . my cardio's nurse is like a gatekeeper and difficult to communicate with.  She told me she was certain the doctor would want me to re-start my Norpace the day before my cardioversion.  Sounds like in addition to the Cardiazem and the Metroprolol I am already taking which is just about knocking me flat.  Can this be right????  There was nothing on the "Patient Plan" sheet they give you before a procedure, except "take your meds that morning with a sip of water.

I know I will have to call and get more info, but getting it from this nurse is difficult and she is somewhat intimidating.  I am thinking of asking for one of the PA's or Nurse Practioners and see if I get more direct info.

Any input would be appreciated . . .

Thanks for the input.  I think Nursie oversteps her boundaries on a regular basis.  When I asked for help adjusting the meds, she said the doctor was out, she'd leave a note for him, but I pretty much had to no options.  He had told me he'd be available if I needed him.

I guess I'm going to have to confront her head on -- I am afraid all the meds together will be too much.  I have a visiting nurse coming Friday that has cardiac background, I can also get her take on it as well as my family doctor and my pharmacist.

Thanks again.  At least I know this is  reasonable request.  I will post my findings.

Sounds to me as though Nursie is overstepping her boundaries.  Can you call the doctor directly to find out HIS advice?
