I had an ablation done in Jan 08. I researched doctors for almost 2 years. Two top doctors in NYC were not mentioned in the above posts. Dr. Larry Chintz @NY Univ Hospital, and Dr. Vivek Reddy @ Mt. Sinai. When researching top EP's across the country, these two doctors are always on the list. Good Luck. Wishing you well, and wishing you enough...
Thank you all for your respond. Now i have plenty of information for my future research.
I was considering changing docs a while ago and had found Dr. Suneet Mittal. You might want to consider him. My ep is Dr Frumkin. I'm not sure he is the best but I quite like him. He's wonderful at taking time with you and I do believe he has a real passion for medicine. My only gripe is you have to wait a long time before you get to see him. Also, er docs have told me its a good idea to get a doc that practices at the hospital nearest your home. Makes sense but I never really thought about it.
Here is his information page: http://webapp.chsli.org/doctor/doctor/view/5599
You may want to make a call to doctor Natale out of the Texas area or Dr. Mel Scheinmann out of northern california These are the two docs that developed the procedure and train all of the top docs across the globe. My understanding is that their offices are pretty good on giving out referrals no matter where you live...good luck
A more general heart health recommendation is provided in US news. On the east coast, several hospitals are rated highly in the annual US news best hospitals for their cardiology. I find it interesting to look at the ratings, then go to the web site, and see what sorts of doctors affiliate with the electrophysiology section. Many websites publish the doctors credentials and experience, and one or two even have video clips of the doc in action. Choose carefully and good luck!!
St Francis should only be about an hour from Brooklyn, Exit 39 of the LIE. Good Luck!
