Thanks -- I'm going to give it a shot. The umbrella didn't occur to me. Lots of water, dress cool, keep the sun off -- got it. It is, after all, only about 5 minutes and I can walk slow and take my time. I've spent 8 years at this job and most of the time I have been rushing to get into the building in summer heat, winter cold -- wind chill 13 below -- and it's just been awful. Now I don't have to rush. That should help the anxiety too -- I'm going because I CHOOSE to, not because I have to. Thanks again.
Thanks -- I appreciate the input. I didn't think about the umbrella -- great idea. I lived in Florida for awhile so if memory serves, I know how to dress in the heat, it's just that this heart thing has my brain frazzled! I am determined not to let this condition take over my life! It's taking up w-a-a-a-y too much of my time!
I live in the southeast and it's hot and humid most of the time. Tomorrow's heat index is supposed to be around 114. Hydration is the key. Wear loose, light colored, cotton clothes as well as taking an umbrella to keep the sun from beating down on you. Have fun.
Hydrate well before you get there and stay well hydrated while you're there. Bring an umbrella to keep the sun from directly beating on you and dress in cool clothing. I live in Southeast Texas where it HOT and the humidity is unbearable so I understand how hard it is to stay cool and the need to be cool. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful time!
