Please help

Hello,I am 21 and was born with Acute Dissection Aorta. It is hereditary but my siblings do not have it. My father, his brother, and some of my cousins have it. Recently I went to the doctor for an echo of my heart so it could be
measured. They keep track of the size of it. Well, the results were that a normal size is 3.7cm and mine was 3.6cm. Now my question is (I should have asked him) am I able to compete in combat sports safely? He said that I do not have any need to worry, though when I was younger I could not play contact sports at all because my aorta was too big at the time. He said now there is no restrictions and noticed that I lift weights and said just be careful with that, stop if you get dizzy or feel light headed. I've never had an issue with my heart regarding pain or premature fatiguing. I am just concerned now that I train Mixed Martial Arts that it could be dangerous die to my heart. Thanks.

I sincerely feel the best answer any of us could give you on this is to get clearance from your doctor......one of my nephews does combat sports and they are pretty intense...however if your doc gives you the green light there are no issues.  I would ask the doc if you have any limitations whatsoever with anything that you do in life and what you should look out for in the way of symtoms and what you should do if they pop up so at the very least you are prepared and have a little safety net around you in being in control is something pops up until you could be seen....my advice is call the doc....
