Heartrate 160's Help me please!

Hi.
Some of you may of read my other posts and know whats been going on with me.  But to shorten it up incase you dont know- Went to ER with HR over 160.  Had to get adensoine push twice to slow it down. (scary stuff).  ER let me go after 6 hours and told me it wasn't anxiety, but palpations and tacychardia.
Ok, so I wore a heart holter for 3 days-normal, just two episodes of brief 130 HR..but that was due to exercise.  Blood work-normal.   Cardio stress test-normal  Ultrasound-normal.
OK...Dr. told me I was ok.  I just had a rapid heart rate, tacychardia.  Ive had this since I was a teenager. I am now a very young, active 40 yr old, no kids.  BUT, I have never had an episode where my HR went this high and I had to go to the ER..this was the first time.    Dr. said to go on with my life as usual.  Just no caffiene, eat healthy bla bla bla.   Well, so I did.   And the next day-yesterday, I was at the book store and dang..out of nowhwere my heart started racing.  I checked my HR with my HR watch..it was 113, then 130...20 min later it was a full blown 160-166!!   I took a xanax and left for the ER again.   By the time I got to the ER my HR was back to 100.  Then eventually flucuated 80;s-100's which is my  norm.
My question for you is...do you think that was a tachychardia attack? or was this an anxiety attack? The xanax made my HR go down to normal.  If it was my heart would xanax really take my HR back down to norm?  I am wondering if the drs are treating me for heart probs when it could be bad anxiety issues????
Anyone have anything similair happen or going on?  Please let me know.
I go see a NEW doctor next week, and Im so happy because my current dr. has been so mean to me during all fo this.   Thanks again! xxoo

3rd i have pac's and pvc's all the time my doctor almost killed me by putting me on 5 deferent hart meds at the same time. to keep track of my heart rate i got a pulse ox meter  i sleep with it in if my heart rate goes to fast or to slow it starts beeping same for my oxygen any way im 6'6, 457lbs my heart rate would get in the mid 20's while i slept so of he sends me to get a pacemaker so now i have this pacemaker and i find out in Italy it was all the meds making my heart beat so slow   anyway all i take now is 1 hart pill a day and 1mg Xanax 3 to 4 times a day when i start to feel the irregular beats starting oh and do get your self an oxygen concentrator when your starting to feel your hart act up take a baby aspirin a Xanax and put on some oxygen your heart will go right back to beating good in minutes just the oxygen will slow your heart by 10 to 20 beats per min

BUT IF YOU HAVE PAIN CALL 911 WHILE DRIVING TO THE HOSPITAL LET THEM KNOW YOUR ROUT AND TO BE READY FOR YOU DONT LET THEM TELL YOU TO STOP WHILE HELP IS COMING KEEP GOING

Something is not clear in your post.

If you got to the ER the first time and they gave adenosine, the diagnosis is certain. Didn't the doctor just tell you what arrhythmia you had? So-called AV nodal reentry tachycardia is instantly terminated by adenosine if the medication works. Sinus tachycardia is usually slowed, just to increase again seconds later. I don't think they use adenosine to slow sinus tachycardia.

In young people, anxiety can drive the heart rate above 200, with a full panic attack. If you feel the heart rate increase, and increase more when you get aware of it, it's usually anxiety.

My doctor always told me that if my heartrate was up over 120 that it probably wasn't anxiety.  I get svt attacks (but not very often).  Typically with an svt attack, your heartrate just jumps from normal to over 130.  There is no slow progression.  It just turns on and turns off like a light switch.  So if the Xanax calmed you down, it could have been mostly anxiety from you feeling your heart start to beat faster.   Fortunately all your tests came back normal, so whatever it is..it won't hurt you.  It just feels horrible.  Mine has been as fast as 220 with pvcs thrown in the mix.
Try not to worry.  Hopefully your new doctor will be able to help you understand what is going on.
