Worried about heart/ pulse rate

Hi, I am a healthy 19 year old female. I do not drink, smoke or take any drugs. I dont drink coffe or tea, and have a fair amount of exercise (i ride horses for a living) I went to the nurse for a normal check up over my conctaceptive pill (yasmin) which i have taken for a year now. She said my heart rate was high and to come back in 3 months. So i have been taking it at home, for the past 2 months and now im worried about it. I occasionally suffer migranes (where i get blurred vision) and headaches. Recently i also feel like my heart races. For example a normal situation which may make you jump or make you anxious i feel like my heart rate races more than normal. My heart rate has been around 144/81 (70 pulse) right the way down to 66/39 (110 pulse). I often suffer lightheadiness if i get up quickly. My pulse and heart rate vary largely, i took my pulse (with a digital machine) at 169 today!! Im mostly concerned that it vearies so much and that my pulse and heart rate vary so much (at different times of the day, all at rest). My pulse has been as low as 43 with a heart rate of 142/89 (that was taken two nights ago) should i be worried?
Thanks xxx

I think I said quite clearly the last time: See a doctor for this.

A heart rate of 169 is way too high. It is possible you have an over-active nerve system that fires high when you check your heart rate (mine was 200 during a blood pressure test once, because I was afraid of the result) but it's completely impossible to say, you need to see a doctor for this.

This can be "nothing" and you can relax (and don't get heart rates that high) or it's "something" (such as inappropriate sinus tachycardia, for example) and you can get it treated. Only a doctor can tell.

Instead of worrying, see your doctor. Sorry to seem a little brutal here, but it's really the only option.

Worried? no that will only make the rhythm worse.  Concerned? yes.

You mention seeing a doctor, did he/she take an electrocardogram (EKG)?  It would make sense to me for doing at least that.

A variable blood pressure is common, and it is effect both by emotions and physical activity.  But, a resting HR of 169 is way too high, and if it doesn't come down should be given immediate medical attention I think.   Remember, it takes time for a HR to return to the "rest" level.  When I walk into Walmart I almost always stop by the blood pressure machine.  The fact that I just sat down doesn't alter the fact that I just walked in from the parking lot, so I don't take my HR of 85, say as high... rather it is my walking HR, not my resting HR.
