I've got the 30 day event monitor right now. I've recorded 4 events in the last week, the long runs of pvcs, and 2 events that were a very regular pattern, 3pvcs 3 normal beats, 3pvcs 3 normal beats. It's so regular it makes me crazy, but it continues so long I wonder how long I can stand it. My husband keeps asking if I have any more to send in, but they are all the same so I don't think there is any reason to record them.
Funny thing is, when I get dizzy or short of breath, or feeling strange, my heart is usually in trigeminy. I know what they will say about that. "well, if you have long strings and no symptoms, it's highly unlikely that trigeminy would cause any symptoms".
If the EP says these events are still benign, then I guess there's not much else to do.
Scarypvc, how many pvcs/pacs are you having? I know that any can be distressing. Maybe you could get a second opinion to get some reassurance. However, there isn't a doctor out there that will guarrantee you anything, it's just not possible. But with the tests you've had I doubt they are missing something more sinister. If you've had all the tests and they've come back negative, that is the best the medical community can do. Trying to convince your mind that your body is ok, that's another story. It takes an extreme amount of mental energy to overcome these darned things, and I get them every day, every hour of the day. Hang in there.
It's really strange that we're suppose to accept this condition as being benign when it it anything but benign to our well being. There are so many uncomfortable conditions that people have to endure, but don't kill them. The suffering and anxiety over not feeling right(even if you have accepted that they are not going to kill you), is at times unbearable. Ablation is a choice for PVC's. I've heard alot of ablation success stories, and also alot of horror stories. Ablation for PVC's is a risk. My DR. said you may be cured,or not, things could stay the same or get worse. I've decided not to go ahead with it unless I develop a life threatening problem. Then we're just left with meds, and again some might work some not and some may make them worse. Anyhow to answer your question, If there is anything(monitor or talismen) I could wear around my neck or any part of my body,I don't care how silly I would look, I would wear it, if it would give me peace of mind. I know what your saying, when I'am having stranger rhythems I would like to know what is happening. This thought goes against what the DR.s tell me "not to focus on them".
You're very young most likely they will go away and hopefully stay away
I can relate to you...don't really want to...lol....but...I have worn "THE HOLTOR"..."THE HEART CARD"....and "THE KING OF HEARTS"...but guess what? It only shows PVC's and PAC's..and my cardiologist says they're ALL benign...when I had The Heart Card..(you place it to your chest when you feel symptoms) by the time I placed it on my chest..the symptoms would be gone..or after I gave the card back it would feel like I would have worse skipping, fluttering or pausing...so than I want to throw my arms up in the air and just give up...maybe I'm NOT suppose to ever find out what the heck is wrong with me....the other night it felt like "they"(as in scary, pausing, skipping beats) wouldn't let up...thought this was "the big one"(lasted about an hour)...but here I am....still scared but still here...
I just had a loop recorder put in under my skin in my chest. It's about 1 inch my three inches and is very thin. It can stay in for up to 3 years and will both automatically and manually record events.
It will leave a small scar and cause some discomfort intially, but it's not too bad if you really need some answers. If your doctor hasn't suggested something like that he is probably pretty certain that you have nothing to worry about, so it may not be worth it to you. It might be worth bringing up though, just to see how you doctor feels about you having one put in.
Hi! The only other thing I could suggest to you is a thirty day monitor. It is very very unlikely that you have a more serious arrhythmia. The good news is, even if it was a more sinister arrhythmia, those are rarely fatal as long as your echos show normal left ejection fraction and normal left side heart function. Would you mind if I ask you how many pvcs and pacs were noted? Try not to worry, you're going to be just fine:)
