Pre-operation

I am one month away from having the 5 Box thoracospic procedure done by Dr. Sirak would you recommend anything that should be done to prepare for the procedure.  I have had two abalatons done in 2008 and a electrocardioversion done in 2011 all unsuccessful. Is the recovery time about a month? thanks for your help, I'm a little anxious.

I am just butting in to say.......absolutely nothing on this procedure....and as Forrest Gump says...thats all i gotta say about that the only thing i can add is to do all of your research on this procedure and the after effects no matter what you are told by anyone...i would try to find a video of the procedure as it is done on line and then the after effects with visuals....good luck and i sincerely hope it works out well for you and you can put your heart situation and your issues behind you...i know it is very difficult.....<3

There have been several discussion on the procedure and the recovery, one thread is has over 100 posts - I forget the number.

I did a search on "5 box" and found this list:
http://www.medhelp.org/search?query=5+box&camp=top_nav_search

I would guess you can find something helpful in there.  Please remember, this forum is a discussion by patients, not medical advice or even "professional" advice.

Good luck, I am sure it will go well.
