I too have been diagnosed with SVT. I was born with an extra branch in my heart. I had the ablation procedure done in July, which has seemed to help. I'm not palpitating like I use to, only when I seem to increase my physical activity. Does anyone have this problem? My symptoms are: fast heart beat, fatigue, shakes, shortness of breathe, and anxiety sometimes.
I always shake like crazy afterwards as well, but it's from the anxiety caused by the heart sensations, not the SVT itself. I shake like crazy after any episode of severe anxiety, even if I'm not in SVT.
Mine feels like falling in love. :)
Hey there, you mentioned you shake after the end of your spells. I was just curious, I haven't actually been diagnosed with SVT but inappropriate sinus tachycardia. However I have spells where my heart will randomly speed up, I haven't actually clocked my pulse cuz I'm too busy freakin out but afterwards I always shake like crazy. I've always contributed it to a surge of adrenaline. Now I'm wondering if I have undiagnosed SVT?
Thanks!
I think the rush you are talking about is a surge of adrenaline. Nikgirl have you been diagnosed with SVT or do you just have bouts of a fast heartbeat? Just curious.
I too, get that...feels faint then pounds...then faint then pound...it's really really weird...gives me this weird rush too
I guess I didn't explain my original post well. When I'm in SVT, my heartbeat doesn't feel slow. It stops feeling like a regular beat, or rhythm, at all. I guess it's hard to describe, but it feels like an erratic mess of twitching and thuds and thumps and irregular beats. I was shocked the first time I was put on an EKG during and they told me the rhythm was fast, but regular.
I guess I'm wondering if anyone's SVT feels like this at all. Really irregular and scary and weird.
my svt starts pounding and racing...it feels like it's pounding right outside of my chest....is that normal for svt?
I don't know if mine is truly SVT or not...it's never been caught on the monitor, but that's what my cardio says he thinks it is. I was going to post a similar question, because I haven't read any posts that mimic my feelings, and the possible SVT is what brought me to the forum (kind of used to the PVC's now).
When this thing happens to me, it feels as though my heart muscle is "twitching" or something. Have you ever had that thing in your eye or leg muscle where the muscle is firing even though you aren't doing anything??? Only thing is it's really fast like a "flutter" and lasts about 10-40 seconds then just stops. Makes me feel faint and happens out of nowhere and then stops out of nowhere, just like those stupid eye twitchy things. Only...since it is my heart, which delivers the life blood to my body, it's a little more concerning...downright frightening to have happen....thus the forum.
My svt feels very fast and faint. But my vt feels slow and hard. even though its going fast.
My SVT feels like a very fast heartrate. Sometimes it's weak and fast and sometimes it's more of a pounding, but always fast. I also always shake really bad with each episode. Even after it has ended I shake really bad. I hate that part!
