Taking a daily dose

Hey I take propranolol 10mg for my heart the doctor said one in the morning and one in the evening I'd usually take one around 10am . And then at 6pm-6.30pm. I woke up late today and took my first pill at 12pm what should I do? Take my next pill around 6.30 like I normally would? Or wait abit longer maybe till 7 or something

Jerry; propranolol is the generic form of Inderal which I take also =)

yes it's a BB but mine's the short acting form so I can vary mine a bit more.  I just wasn't sure if his was short acting or extended-release that he was taking.

What is it a beta blocker?  If yes, I'd vote for either taking the second dose on schedule or a hour later than scheduled.  I think it makes little difference.  When one misses a once a day medication, such as the slow release often are, I think the question becomes more critical.  Even in that case I'd split the difference and try to "feather" the time slip out over the next day or two.

I have forgotten to take my 50 mg BB in the morning on occasion and not notice until I was taking my CCB before bed time. In those (few) cases, I just skip to the next morning regular dose.

The guideline Lisa provided sounds very familiar.  I'd not worry much and just slip back to the normal schedule.

I would call the dr just to make sure but the website for the US national Library of medicine says this:

What happens if I miss a dose?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule.
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

You could always look at the label to see what it says, or check the manufacturer's website - not sure what the maker is of your script it should show on your bottle.
