Hi,
Yes, the Caffeine must go entirely. When I have an episode of PVCs, (my last episode lasted longer than a year), I won't even look at a Caffeinated drink. I see other factors too, your work schedule 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, hard both in terms of being odd hours, and due to the length of your work schedule. The Benadryl could be a contributor, not necessarily though.
Be well.
Cut out the caffeine Completely, and your problem just may stop. Mine did, I switched to all caffeine free drinks and my heart is good as new.
Good Luck
I appreciate your input and advice. Yes, I've been on the atenolol, had several stress test and wore an event monitor as well as a holter. I have cut back on the caffeine and do not sleep well ( I work 7at night to 7am). occasinally, I take a benadryl for sleep. I take fish oil and mag oxide 400mg and exercise as much as I can. I don't mean to complain just disgusted with the pvc's year after year. thanks for your concern and cooment. peace
Hi,
Why do you believe that these are more than PVCs?
When the Premature Ventricular Contraction occurs, there is a pause in your heart rhythm, called the compensatory pause, that results as your heart awaits the next normal heart beat to occur.
I'm a little confused by the zip up and down or press down and release sensation part.
Unfortunately, in othewise healthy hearts with levels of PVCs within certain levels and otherwise not symptomatic, there may be little that can be done. Sometimes the more aggressive treatments are more dangerous than the PVCs themselves.
Some people have as many as 10,000 or more PVCs per day and are still not considered as being serious. The important thing is to be examine and tested by your Doctor, which you seem to have done already. Have you had a Stress Test yet? How about a Holter Monitor? (The Holter would be great if you get this problem everyday).
Suggestions: Ask for a change to another Beta Blocker (Atenolol and Nadolol work fairly well for me and my wife) NO CAFFEINE, more sleep. Avoid decongestants and diet medications or other stimulants. Avoid any Mega Vitamin Supplements, etc.
Be well.
