My two cents is that i think it sounds like you need a change in your meds because something isn;'t obviously working for you.  I am hoping that the doc that diagnosed you is a heart doc not a family doc.  For a doc to increase your meds when you are already going thru syncopy or passing out is insane to me.  You are experiencing too many adverse symtoms w. these meds and there are too many out there that may be a better fit for you.  If you are seeing a heart doc i would definately entertain the thought of getting a second opinion with a heart doc in your area that has great reviews when you check them out on line....and if like i said it is a regular family doc to me that is a big no no in matters of the heart because its not their specialty.  To me its kind of like i wouldn;t let my hairdresser put my transmission in my car if you get the idea.....heart docs know nothing but the heart and a regular doc is a "general" practitioner and the heart is not their specialty...just a thought but i know if it were my body no way would i let any doc increase my meds when i am only having trouble w. it now because common sense would tell me that i bigger dose means biggers problems then i already have...good luck

With AFib one has to either be converted to sinus rhythm or live with the AFib.  Living usually includes taking an anticoagulant (Warfarin/Coumadin) and a beta blocker to lower (ventricle) heart rate.

A side effect of the BB can be fatigue and other related symptoms.  These my become less troubling after taking the medication for a period of months.

If you resting HR is over 80 your doctor would first increase the amount of BB you are taking.  Is that what is going on?

Have you had any discussion on working to convert you HR to normal?
