Slow heart rate during sex?

I'm a gay male and I've noticed that a lot of my partners experience really fast heart rates during sex, almost to the point where you can hear it.  My heart rate doesn't seem to do that, but I am still aroused. What does this mean?

I wouldn't worry about it too much.  It could be that you just don't produce a lot of adrenaline.  If you feel fine, do not feel chest pressure or pain or difficulty breathing then I would not worry too much.  If you are concerned maybe go in for a checkup to make sure all is OK.  You can ask the doctor about your heart rate not elevating during sex.  Do you know if it rises during typical heavy exertion like running?  If it doesn't then maybe just see a doctor to get checked out.

I should also ask if you know it is truly slow or just that you don't feel it beating fast.  Would be good to know the rate it is at when you exert yourself.
