I am so happy to hear this and glad you made the decision to have it done. For some it works like it has with you and you are your old self again; after recovery you will probably feel even better =)
congratulations and hopefully you stay in good health and wellness for a very long time
Pacemakers are an amazing device. I am on my second one. After 4 ablations for AFib, I finally I had my AV node ablated 18 mo ago. Life is good. I can breathe, I do all the other stuff I used to do like sail, travel extensively, go to the gym, etc. You will find that after you recoop, you will be back in the swing of things. (I am forever grateful to the research that brought me the pacer.)

i had a dual chambered pacemaker implant done on friday the 20th..today is the 24th and i feel absolutly amazing..im 31 and went through an ablation in march 45 burns to the heart and my sinus node was damaged which going into the surgery i knew that this was a possiability..thus a pacemaker was the next step going through bouts of brady cardia hr in the 40's tired almost fainting running into things being off balance the whole gambit...i after my surgery on friday was d/c sat at 9am ..went to dinner that night w/the husband ..sunday went grocery shopping with my sister since i cant drive she did all the work but i still went..im no longer short of breath i dont even thing about having to rest..im not sick to my stomach i drink alot more ..my god i feel like i did before this all started...thank god its over..i know this isnt a question but i feel so good i wanted you all to know that i think i got my life back........
hey Mickey sorry to hear you're still having problems, I had hoped you would find an answer by now :(
good luck on your PM implant Friday - hopefully this will help your bradycardia problem; it helped mine and I no longer go below 50 or pass out in the 50's since they did my settings right; but I still have pre-syncope daily
let us know how your surgery goes
i had anxiety attacks months back and my heart went up to 153 the highest its been and 80 mg propanolol got my heart rate to 60, im not suprised you're passing out nearly with that dose, i think if i were you i would look into seeing another doctor.
so many people go in for this ablation so called 'simple proceedure' and things go wrong, im sorry to see you are going or should i say gone through this, at least when you get the pacemaker fitted you can get on with life as normal good luck :)
how can the surgeon damage the sinus node accidently, surely this is dangerous?
ive read people with some with pvcs have ablation and accidently burned the sinus node, how on earth can this happen when the ventricles arent even near the sinus node?
can they be sued for this?
i dont think id like to have an ablation done ive heard some bad things
lol.ya the toperal was abruptly stoped and the bradycardia is more dominent then ever..im have arrythima changes that are al little much ..got the phone call today the doc is ptting pacemaker in this friday and im really creeped out..im sure ur surgery will b a success, dnt worry yourself what works for some may not work for others..im guessing i was one of those % that get the bone..good luck to u
300 mg of Toprol?! That would make anyone pass out or have intense bradycardia. I would think that dosage would be adjusted now that you had the ablation. It seems crazy that you went in for tachycardia and now there's talk of implanting a pacemaker. I'd get second and third opinion.
Good luck and I hope you resolve this in a satisfactory way.
i'm set to be ablated for a-fib next month. i know how it feels to want to be normal again. i miss my life before this. i was diagnosed at the age of 32 & i just turned 34 in last month. i want so bad for my ablation to cure me but i read posts like yours and it just makes me scared. having the surgery damage your sinus node instead of the surgery curing you is awful and i'm sorry your going through it.
i had sinus tachycardia..my hr would go up t0 180 to 200 bpm for no reason i would be sitting on couch and hr would just shoot up for no reason..finally diagnosed w sinus tachycardia now that i had the ablation started having bradycardia causing really bad symptoms....
