bradycardia and Increase in BP during stress test

I am 64 yr old w m.I have had a hr trend over the last 15 yrs of 46 -standing-40 resting-.Bp 128/70 Suddenly my VA  dr is concerned and is doing a work-up.I just had a stress test where my SBP  went to 220 @ 4 min.I did not see my diastolic but test was stopped.Original EKG defined the brady but nothing else.ST segment normal.
I have been on prophalactic  dose of HCT 12.5 for 15 yrs as family history of early cardiac events at 40 yrs old resulting in death.
I am essentially asymptomatic.I do fall asleep rapidly when sitting in social situations but am very athletic and do not get SOB or dizzy.
I sail and just applied for my captains license. I am puzzled by all of this .I have been retired for several years and was never very good with cardiac problems.
Can you put this in perspective for me?

I can't give any direct help, but maybe some questions and answers will give "us" more of a chance to understand/relate.

1) You say active?  Does that include aerobic exercise such as running, hard hiking, and biking?
2) Do you have any history on your aerobic HR?  Assuming some yes to the above.
3) I don't recognize the medications you are on, are they related to bradycardia treatment or other rhythm abnormalities.
4) Is the family history the same in each case?  Sudden cardiac arrest for example.  Was there blockage problems?...

One observation, a medical decision to stop a stress test deserves a complete explanation from your doctor, hope you got one.
