ep visit update still getting svt

hi
so I had my ep visit today after having the event monitor in june and the holter one at the end of july .it is now clear that i am still suffering bouts of svt as both had rhythms on them.the holter was for 48 hrs and had 8 runs of svt in the atria and seems to be produced by pac's in runs  and ending up in palpitations lasting from 50 secs to longest 3 mins highest rate was 145 atria tachycardia so it is not as high as before i had the first ablation which were running 190+.
he feels at this time a second ablation will not fix this  at present as he is unsure where the specific origin is but it is in the upper chambers and the frequency is not as high as before and while it is a nuisance for me {} as i am having symptoms he now wishes me to go back on flecainide 50mg twice a day --the beta blocker i am on is no good for this and i am to stop...i am not happy about the flecainide i have been on this already last year and made me quite sick with side effects .....i have to go back in 5 mths and if the symptoms get worst they may consider a second ablation so i feel i am back to where i started only the rate is not as fast for now ........to be honest i know things could be worst but i had hoped for it to be over some what ....he feels that the first ablation sloved the worst part of the anvrt and is unsure at present weather this will improve or get worst again.........he feels i am fit and not in any way in danger of a stroke or anything like that but my bp does dip when they happen .got the caffine etc speech again and the usual not to worry.....
so i dont know i have to say i am dissappointed at the moment alltough i knew i was getting them again
i did not get the full report of the holter they dont give them out here and it was busy

thats about the jist of it

Sorry to read that you are dissapointed but glad that you are fit and in no danger.
One thing I do know from the little time I have been on this site is that you are determined to read , research and try and find out what might be helpful both to yourself and others. You also cheer people up which is priceless!
So keep positive and focused on your aim.

  Thanks Betty!

Hey lagoya,
Any chance your doctor would consider trying propafenone (rhythmol).  Not sure if you would have the same luck, but I really preferred the rhythmol over flecainide.

Looks like you've got at least one day off since the pharm. doesn't have the meds : )

I like that your doctor is OK with you trying flecainide on as "as needed" basis.  Maybe that will help.  Hope tomorrow's a better day.

Anybody have a good joke for Lagoya to cheer him up?
I'll start:

What did Noah do all day when he was on  the ark?
Fishing, but he didn't catch much-he only had two worms.

I know it's lame but that's all I've got -hopefully, someone has a better one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

start when you feel it is appropriate for you to do so, I hope at very least that you have a better experience with this medication than you did before, you never know right, it could be possible? Others on this forum have had positive experiences with it.

You can still spark a smile, I hope you see the irony in your words, you were hoping for "just ectopics"! hee, hee, sometimes when I listen to my heart or take my pulse, I think, what I wouldn't give just to have 10,000pvcs/day.

The EP is right that you are really healthy .  It's just that your heart acts up now and then.  I know it's discouraging getting back on the med but maybe the low dose will keep things under control and you'll tolerate it fine this time.  It sound like you have a great EP DR. who know what he's doing. The good thing is that  when it acts up, your heart rate is not nearly as fast as it was before your first ablation. I have a feeling all is going to  be just fine-just hang in there.

i was hoping for better news too or at least just etopics beats but he did assure me cause my face dropped when he said a second ablation wont fix this now -he said my heart is good but i am symptomatic with these .he also said a pacemaker wont help and i dont need an icd i didn't ask about those but maybe he thought i was worried
they are getting higher the event monitor i had in june they were only 115 and there was a good few of those and the holter 5 weeks later the highest was 145 alltough lt is lower than the 240 i started with before the first ablation .i am getting a lot of pacs in a row as well .he said i was really healthy i nearly fell off the chair lol  i must have looked sad .....he is a good ep and assured me to come back if i am in trouble and i go back as normal in 5 mths .i will start on low dose but not this week ..............
how are u ?

I was hoping for better news for you too.

At very least, it's not the same, it's not as high, so maybe a teenie bit less bothersome? Gee, I hope so.

Do you think that this latest round has been increasing since you began to experience it again? It's good to know that you are "not in danger of stroke", and it seems your doctor was being supportive and encouraging in that regard.

Is it possible to experiment with the dose of flecainide to give you the best results with the least side effects?

lagoya and flecainide do not get on               was on it for mts last year had a lot of stomach pain on it and was taken off in the end ....
alltough the dose is low this time it is about the best thats there
there is good news there -- i am weary of flecainide so he feels that if i can put up with it i could take as needed --but would rather i take it everyday
i have not been on any med for mths except the bb when needed but no everyday med ,,which i needed ----i am not a good med taker
