Hello...I don't have a lot to add but I have 2 children that were born with "hypoplastic right heart syndrome", my kids have numerous defects, including ASD, my daughter is now 11yrs old and my son is 16, my daughter has had 3 open heart surgeries and my son has had 2, their defects were so bad that my daughter had her 1st surgery the day after she was born and my son, 3 days after he was born, all surgeries were done before their 2nd birthdays.....
But anyway, sorry for all that...my daughter's surgeries were at the U of M Hospital in Michigan, they have a congenital heart wing, dedicated entirely to adults and children with congenital defects....they are a wonderful hospital!!
I realize it's aways to travel but we did it, we're from Kansas, took us 13 hrs to get there....but it was worth it!!
Check out New York University Hospital or New York Presbyterian.
My deepest sympathy for your very difficult heart condition... and I wonder if the law suit mentality here in the US isn't at the root of your problem finding a cardiologist. Your payment, e.g., insurance, method can also be a problem here in the USA.
Still, we have the very best in medical care and being you are in NYC you are near some. Have you checked with one of the heart center hospitals..I don't know them by name in NYC, but Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, OH) and Mayo Clinic (don't recall where) come to mind as examples. It would seem to me that whatever is similar in NYC would have some interest in dealing with particularly challenging conditions. I don't know specifics.
All else failing you can got to the emergency room and you will be admitted if you have any critical symptoms present.
