I think that I have the same thing that you have and it scared the crap out of my when I was your age.  I am not a medical doctor, though, and you should definitely go to the doctor.  I have a condition called pre atrial tachycardia (PAT).  The condition seems to go by many names and falls under the Supraventricular tachycardia category.  It was described to me as essentially a doubling of the electrical signals in your chest which tell the heart to beat.  It started happening to me when I was about 15.  I'm 30 now.  Also, I have the excessive yawning thing as well.  I went to a doctor when I was about 20 and they told me that I had exercise induced asthma which wasn't true.  They gave me an inhaler which didn't help at all, so I stopped using it.

I found your post because I was trying to figure out how to make the yawning thing stop as well.  Other people on various web boards seem to say that alcohol and caffeine can cause the heart beating problem to be worsened if used in excess.  I also read that taking magnesium supplements can help with the heart as well.  I don't know how true that is, though.  As for the yawning (which is incredibly annoying, I know), I felt like I did have some success when I took over-the-counter Claritin regularly for a couple of weeks.  My yawning problems seem to start happening and last for about 1-2 months then go away (maybe assisted by the Claritin, but I'm not totally sure).  I hope we can all find out how to stop the annoying yawning though.

As for the excessive heart beating, you should definitely see a doctor.  My heartbeat can be up in the 200-220 beats per minute range when this happens.  One trick is to run your face under ice cold water.  There is also the tactic which involves sitting down on the ground and flexing all of your abdominal muscles like you are trying to have a bowel movement.  Make sure you are sitting, though, in case you faint.  Try the ice water tactic first, though, and definitely go to the doctor.

Good luck with the yawning.

i told my mom about the yawning and she wont take me to the doctor for that. but i have recently tried not to think about it and it has worked. i think it was a mental thing. but i looked up my problems with my heart in a health book and it sounds like i have a palpitation, where my heart skips beats. i still want to go to the doctor though just to see if things could get worse over time.   thanks for the help

Have you been checked by a doctor on your yawning and fast (how fast at rest?) heart beats?  It may be that the yawning isn't related to any physical need.  Can you somehow get your mind off of thing about when the next yawn is coming and see if they come less frequently?  Maybe a good movie or some physical activity is "strong" enough to test if the yawn in mental or physical driven.
