Wow, sounds like what I have experiencing. My Dr. has only done some blood work, slightly low potassium due to taking Enalapril HCTZ 10/25 so prescribed increased orange juice and banana daily. Which I have done, worked for about 2 1/2 months. But started getting lightheaded feeling now and then again about two weeks ago,not as bad or oftern as before but I can feel the skipped beat at that time. Dr, hasn't even done and ekg. Says maybe a stress test if is persists, all started last fall. Wish I could get something to make them go away permanently
I know I have pvc's and sometimes pac's and I take propranalol for it....however I still have light headedness when I get them and feel so tired at times...........they seem to just dismiss it as arrythmias but my quality of life suffers.
Whats a fib?
It could be any number of things from a simple sinus tachycardia to afib or flutter to some random ectopic beats like pacs or pvcs. The fact that they are causing you to feel faint means it is good you are being checked out by a cardiologist. But most of the conditions that cause what you are feeling are generally not life threatening though some have to be managed more than others and some can be possibly cured with an ablation while others can only be managed. Once you know what you have then it may warrant more tests to evaluate the overall health of your heart. An echo is generally a good test to check the overall health of the heart. If the overall health of the heart is normal and good then it is very likely what you are feeling will be of no consequence to the longterm health of the heart. When you get your results let us know what they were. Take care and hang in there. You are on the road to getting to the bottom of this.
