What type of arrhythmia does he have?  Most of them are pretty benign conditions unless they disrupt ones ability to function.  Most of them really don't even need to be treated unless they become very disruptive of a person's life.  But find out what he has so you can do some research online to know what you are dealing with and how to proceed.  But I suspect you may just need to keep an eye on your son at this point.  I had an svt called avnrt that caused sporadic episodes of a rapid heart beat all of my life but it didn't become disruptive until my 40s.  It is very likely bronchitis is aggravating your sons condition and if you can get a handle on that then his arrhythmia may subside.  Good luck and keep us posted on how he is doing.

Hi, Arrhythmias are usually handled by the body without any real problem unless there is an underlying type of heart disease. Arrhythmias are not classified as heart DISEASE, but are referred to as a heart CONDITION. Your sons should probably see a cardiologist and have a 24-48 hour Holter done to see what type of arrhythmia he has and if he is symptomatic with the arrhythmia. Once that is determined than treatment could be started IF it is deemed necessary. If he has something called Sinus Arrhythmia, that is a whole different story in the fact that that is a NORMAL response by the heart in response to breathing. Bronchitis, alters breathing so that could cause a sinus arrhythmia. If your son is doing well, just consider seeing the cardiologist for the Holter and for some peace of mind.
