currently taking low dose aspirin , may have pacemaker installed due to PAC's and bradycardia. Do I need to take warfarin instead of aspirin after the surgery?

thanks for that Jerry. Having been on Warfarin when I was AFib my experience is that I didn't like it. Finding the proper doseage can be difficult.

Clearly your question is one for your doctor to answer.

In my experience with Warfarin, and I get along well with it, aspirin is much easier to deal with if it is sufficient.

I don't know the relationship between having a pacemaker and needing Warfarin.   Warfarin is a blood anticoagulant (thinner) as I'm sure you know.  It is taken to reduce clot formation caused by something line Atrial Fibrillation or mechanical heart valves.  I have never heard of it being needed for PACs or Bradycardia, but that is not a medical opinion.

I think most doctors will recommend aspirin if the risk factors for clot formation are low, and Warfarin (Coumadin) if there are several risk factors.
