Please copy and paste this address to your browser. It will take you to a page very helpful in Hep B tests and advice. So sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I really don't know what to tell you about your relationship. I would discuss it with my partner and take the necessary precaustions. No sharing of razors, toothbrushes, needles, anything w/ blood particles (even microscopic ones) and practice "safe sex" habits always. Take care and hope things turn out ok for you.

taken from the above address:

Hepatitis B surface antigen
(HBsAg)
Used to diagnose an acute or chronic infection.
First marker to appear in an acute infection.
Disappearance indicates recovery from infection.
Persistence for > 6 months indicates chronic infection (carrier).
Individuals tested within 72 hours after administration of the vaccine may test as positive. (See anti-HBs, anti-HBc IgM and HBeAg.)
