Headache

Hi folks,

My sister has been under Entecavir treatment for about 9 month.  So far no side effect has been suffered.  Until day before yesterday she felt painful on pressing both side of her rear head.  Today she went to the hospital casualty for treatment.  The doctor after investing her head said it was accountable to Neuralgia(Nerve Pain).  Nothing has been suspected on the problem of the Hindbrain(Rhombencephalon).  She asked the doctor whether it was a symptom of side effect on Entecavir treatment.  The response from the doctor was that it might be.  Afterward the doctor prescribed Analgesic (Painkiller) to her.

Has any folk on the forum encountered such a side effect on Entecavir ?  Any method to stop it?  TIA

Hi,

Thanks for your advice.

She won't stop Entecavir treatment unless approved by her care doctor.

Whether you meant Omega3 fatty acid?

Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega3 fatty acids have relation to neuritis.  Occasionally she has dull sharp pain on eye balls but the duration was short without loss of vision and/or having other symptoms.  Previously I considered it being related to Hep B and/or its treatment.

Although there are supplements for Omega 3 fatty acids;

I won't advise her taking any pills without the approval of her care doctor.  Equally fish is rich of Omega 3 fatty acids which I would recommend to her.  Natural foods are always reliable/good to human heath rather than medicine.

99% not related to entecavir and might have happened easily even without entecavir, i am almost at one year with cirrhosis and no sides at all from it

headache is not a severe condition and easy curable or controllable, i'd focus on headache cure not to entecavir stop because if she stops she'll have hbv back probably at high hbvdna load and that is much more dangerous than headache.I'd not suggest to change to tenofovir eather since tenofovir can have more sides and headaches have been reported

after a visit with a specialist if headache is due to nerve inflammation and doctor agrees she might try high dose omega3 5g daily and see if inflammation reduces and then keep 1g omega3 daily, i do this for sciatica inflammation that i have 2-3 times a year and it goes away in 1-2 days, then i get back to the 1g daily dose.
