you need hbsag quant to understand what is happening.
very low hbsab happens on some carriers but it is neutralized by the high hbsag so useless
but in case of hbsag less than 10iu/ml it means you are buiding up some immunity and hbv vaccine may help
Oh, I have forgot to post my hbeag results. My related results are
hbeag -
hbeab +
thanks
Dan
Baseline:
Ultrasound and CT: normal liver.
hbsag +
hbsab -
hbvdna 8.2*10^7 IU/mL (0.99 is considered to have immunity to hbv).
After 8 months tenofovir:
Ultrasound: normal liver.
hbvdna: 40 IU/mL
ast: 31 (0-40)
alt: 31 (0-55)
afp: 7.6 ng/mL (0.0-8.3)
Hep B Surface Ab: 0.60 (0.00-0.99)
(
Inconsistent with Immunity: 0.00-0.99
Consistent with Immunity: >0.99
An Index Value of 1.00 is equivalent to 10mIU/mL. However, the magnitude of the Index Value is not indicative of the total amount of antibody present.
)
hbsag: confirm. indicated
HBSAG Confirmation Positive Abnormal
My interpretation of my hbsag results. Since I am in US this is a qualitative measurement. It might that my hbsag value is very low and it barely showed the sign of virus (confirm. indicated). And 2nd time it was confirmed that I was still hbsag positive.
Please also notice that I have some hbv antibody 0.6 (0-0.99) while 8 months ago I did not have any.
I am 40+ years old. Before taking tenofovir, I did not take any medication for CHBV.
Thanks for your comments.
