Are any of the following supplements ok to take while on Tenofovir?

B-Complex (50mg)
Glucosamine
Vitamin C (2000mg)
CO-Q10 (400mg)

I do realize there are other supplements to take, and more than likely I am taking those (approved by my doctor) but I need to know about these in particular.

about cucurmin: " curcumin is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream. It helps to consume black pepper with it, which contains piperine… a natural substance that enhances the absorption of curcumin by 2000% (3)."   founded here :

potentil they dont interfere.heptech has milk thistle and it does not interfere, especially if you take them apart

i strongly suggest you use liposomals because they get directly inside the cells and more than those vitamins normal d3 not liposomal and normal k are much better for bones, liver and immune system

to help liver and prevent fibrosis also glutathione, resveratrol ,curcumin in liposomes are much better.

b-complex is not particularly needed for improvement of liver disease, it is more for neuro diseases.if you take live home made probiotics (you buy bacteria but produce at home yogurt) you increase B vit production by your gut

Thanks, Stef! I ask because there actually ARE certain supplements that interfere with the medication. Examples, milk thistle and Gingko Bilboa were 2 things I was asked to stop taking, because they had the potential to interfere with the medications. However, everything else, my doctor did approve and told me was ok. I asked him for a list of what was not approved, as the drug company provided this to him, but they keep forgetting to give it to me.

ONLY at this point should your liver doc be telling you what you should take. If you are on a treatment there are several supplements that most would not want you to take.  Post treatment is different.  You do not want to do anything that might interact with the anti-virals. Period.

Best, Dbz

there are no supplements controindicated with tdf, just take them with meals

keep in mind that vitamin c is not absorbed unless liposomal or injected and that the higher the dose the less you get.of 2000mg you may get only 16% in blood
