Starting TAF 25 mg(vemlidy) generic version from tomorrow

Hi Guys...
I am Rohan from India, I will start a new drug TAF (generic version) from tomorrow as my doctor has changed my drug from tenofovir to TAF. Today, I finished my last pill of tenofovir. I was taking tenofovir from last 15 months.I will put each and every information timely.

What was the reason of switch ?
Do you know some reliable seller of generic version of TAF ? No brand, because you've already mentioned its Tafnat from natco, but some online supplier ?

Hi sorte, the reason to switch was i lost around 9-10kg weight in 1 year of tenofovir....also as i am hbeag +ve i had a viral relapse from 465iu/ml to 6500 iu/ml.. initially when i started tenofovir it was uncountable....170000000iu/ml. So after relapse he ordered me genotype and resistance test ... the result was unable to find out as the viral load is less than 5000 iu/ml. Than he switched me taf and told that I have to be on antiviral for long team and Taf has better safety profile than tenofovir for longer term.

2. yes, I know a reliable seller and always gets the drugs from his shop. They only deal in prescribed medicines.people from other countries also come to his shop to buy drugs.He gets the drugs direct from manufacturer and are 100% genuine.

3.The brand name is “NATCO” it is a very big pharam sells generic in US too. They have named TAF as Tafnat.
Not from any online supplier as i do not have faith on them instead buy direct . cost of medicine is US$30 for 1 bottle.

I'v never heard about side effect of TDF loosing so much weight. What was you weight before ? Also not sure if TAF can stop viral relapse since it's the same active substance, just different form which makes more antiviral go to the liver and rest to the other body parts but we will see, TAF is quite short on the market.
What is good for you, since you are HBe+ you'v got higher chance to clear than HBe-.

2. So you need prescription to buy from them ? Indian one or from any country ? EU ?

yup my doctor told me that i have more chance to clear hbsag than hbeag -ve ones. Also he has added vitamin e and multivitamin tablets with it for 3 months and will check hbv dna after 3 months if hbv dna will increase he will add enteciver with it he told me. He also said that sometimes viral relapse occurs in hbeag +ve people and initial viral load was so high ...uncountable..so can happen.

2. I dont know about europe but in India..for every generic drug you do need a prescription for generic drugs. However you can get them without prescription too if you know someone.

This is false tdf causes weight loss. I am consistently gaining weight and have to diet a lot. Weight gain or loss depends upon person to person and body type

yup brother depends on the bodytype,metabolism and how the medicine suits that person.

Also you can check brother weight loss is mentioned as a side effect of tenofovir you can check over internet.

May be but I m not experiencing it at all. Instead I have a steady gain and consistent bodyweight by controlling diet. My appetite is also good. No anorexia. Indeed I don't feel a single side effect due to tenofovir.

Yup mate that is very good ...don’t why i lost it however my doctore ordered many tests to find out the reason for weight loss like sugar,thyroid,ttg-iga etc all tests were good no worries ...but as from last 3 days.Also when the virus is active weight loss does happen as i am currently hbeag  +ve

U should try interferon therapy add-on to taf as u r hbeag positive and have higher chance of hbsag loss on ifn than hbeag negative individuals

Thanks bro for the advice, i discussed the same with my doctor few months ago but he straight away said no. He told me that there are lots of side affects associated with it.

Change Ur dr. Seek for a dr who is more agressive on treatment. And u dare to cover the risks. No pain no gain. I too underwent 6mnths ifn therapy. One dr was in favour one was against. But I did it though the result was not successful but still I gave a chance. Today I am healthy with no long term after effect. I was e ag negative but.

Also lookup Reishi mushroom and raw honey.  It says that it’s great antiviral and helps boost liver and kidney function

I started to take Reishi mushroom in green tea and mix with raw honey and 3 sprinkles of tumeric, my viral load was in millions iu to 500 iu plus my alt and ast came down to lower limits.  I will continue to do this for another 6 months until my next blood test and will post results.  If viral load remains low and alt and ast normal, will continue to monitor, if not then my doctor will have me on Vemlidy.  Which I was happy to hear that it has no impact on kidneys and bones.  But hopefully with the natural remedies, viral load and liver function continues to be normal and hopefully hbv cleared or until cure.  Good luck

cool ...but i checked reishi mushroom is not available in india however reishi supplements are which i dont want to take ... i will start taking honey and garlic also i have ordered wild natural honey :) Thanks..

Reishi supplements can be just as effective.  They harvest the spores powder and put it in capsules.  It’s worth a try.  I actually take the spores that come with green tea.  Unless you want to find the actual mushroom and boil yourself.  Btw, I take it every morning on an empty stomach.

but right now i am taking multivitamins and vitamin e tablet also so i think its better to try reishi tablet after 2 months when i stop these vitamin supplements..

Good luck.  Vemlidy is suppose to be very effective at lowering hbv load and does not impact kidneys and bones.

Thanks mate! This is the reason why my doctor switched me on TAF from tenofovir as I am hbeag +ve also my viral load got relapced from 425 iu/ml to 6000 iu/ml. However, in resistance test and genotype test ... the result was unable to detect as hbv dna was less than 5000iu/ml... So for long term basis my doctor switched me to TAF. Also with TAF, he has prescribed me vitamin e and multivitamin for 3 months.

Don't know versa when we'll get the cure. It just seem to be a snake ladder game from past 10years and still no concrete outcome. Its all just assumptions and seem we have to stay on these everlasting unhealthy meds and also have to bear the social stigma associated with hbvers.
