Blood Donor Postive HBsAG?

Letter from blood donation organization indicating my HBsAg test is positive. I have been married and monogamous for 35 years. Husband was adulterous and we are currently in divorce process, but have not had unprotected sex with him since 2003, after discovering his first affair. Have been a regular bad donor since high school. So, what the heck?  If this is from cheating husband, shouldn't it have shown up way sooner? Have made an appointment with primary doc for full testing and consultation, but flipping out here. A sudden letter. Yikes. Pretty scared. Advice?

Hi, as a blood donor, you must have had regular testing for infectious diseases like hepB, hiv, hepC, etc. When was last time you were screened for hbv and tested negative?
I hope the hbsag positive you got is just a false positive; anyhow you will get a clearer picture of your status from the blood test. Good luck!
Remember also when adults are infected with hbv, about 95% of them clear the infection by themselves within the acute phase of the disease, i.e. within 6 months.
