never, cirrhosis happens only to a small percentage after a life of active immune system/oxidative stress that damages the liver, there is hypotesis that keeping oxidative stress normal no damage will happen to the liver, the experience of hepatitis technologies is that lowering oxidative stress cirrhosis will regress even with active hbv+hcv infection, so keeping oxidative stress normal will probably allow cirrhosis to never develop even in the small minority with active immune systems

also vitamin d showed protection from liver damage on mice when 2 groups were used and cirrhosis induced, the group with vitamin d developed mild liver damage instead of cirrhosis
