Hi all,
I got tested for Hepatitis B & C in Dec 2009. HBSAg and Anti-HCV were both negative. At the time, I also got the qualitative PCR tests for both done which were also negative.
I had a possible exposure at the end of March 2010. Therefore I got myself tested on the 5th of June i.e. 2 months later for HBSAg, anti-HBC, HB Surface Antibody, Hep A, Hep E and anti HCV as well as the PCR's for both. Everything was -ive including surface antibody (which means I need to get vaccinated).
My question is whether I can count myself as -ive for both Hep B and C based on the tests and the timelines above? if I get tested during the window period then HBSAg and Anti HCV would fail but surely the PCR wouldnt?
Looking forward to your responses.
Thanks
