Sweep sweep to the left Meki...to the left....no...no....to the right...slightly....slightly....phew.
AhhhhHa, finally a chance for me to practice proper English...here it goes:
What in bloody hell is British football?
"yanks" are the New York Yankees...that's baseball.
Soccer is being played by the kids on the field next to one playing crickets. While I admire the endurance and skills in soccer, it REALLY hard to watch because they just often just run around in the middle of the field and after 10 amazing hours, we have a 1-0 score. At least in ice hockey, it fast pace and they check the hell out of each other. Soccer, it's like, "excuse me sir, can I hook slide to the ball".
Okay, can we talk about curling now.
Hi guys,
I have just read this thread and there was only one mention of the great sport of basketball... I am an avid NBA watcher and support the one and only Phoenix Suns.... Come on guys, join a real sport! as i am British i love my football (or as you yanks say 'soccer').... nowadays with old age and all, i really only practice once on tuesdays and the rest of my days are spent practicing moves in my head.... Zelly i noticed you do homeschooling... I was originally taught that way then my mum realised i was still uncontrollable... Lol... how are you guys tho?
Hahaha, that's funny.
Nash: Please don't start me on curling, cause this thread will explode. Get this....synchronized curling.
Zelly: Please thank your Pistons organization for turning out a basketball wizard that is Isiah Thomas. I loved it when he said something like, I hope I am judged by my record. Man, that was classic...just classic.
>>At least your city fire proof during football season. Ha ha.
LOL! Funny *and* true.
“burn down the city at semi-regular intervals by way of celebration” This cracked my up zelly.
I guess the Detroit Fire Dept will put in a lot of over time if both the Wing and Pistons win….At least your city fire proof during football season. Ha ha.
I’m just jealous….my team’s don’t often give me an opportunity to burn down the city.
Steven, I agree…curling is the bomb. You have to be in top physical condition to compete in that sport.
Huge relief...huge. To tell you the truth, I'm exhausted. Whew!!
Hey shawzam! I have one of those kinds of kids too! He's a long way from high school but I can imagine you must feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment (and relief!). Goodonya!
I'm tryimg to get my vegi garden planted this week. I'm having fun planting flowers, taking pictures and visiting with new neighbors. My youngest is on the Autism spectrum and graduated from highschool today. Now it's time to help him find a job and an apartment nearby.
Nash...we are required by law to support the Wings (and to burn down the city at semi-regular intervals by way of celebration but that's another thread)...but we consider it an honor and a privilege.
I associate darts with cute English boys, not rednecks.
Now NASCAR, on the other hand...
Curling...puh-leeeze. Give me a sport where the uniform includes a curly mullet and no front teeth.
What's a "dart team"? .....LOL
That's what so great about competition, it could be anything. The other day, I saw a group of teens playing cricket in the part. This is NYC...it was so alien. What's next, bring on curling. Man, I hope the coming Olympics has curling indoors. Because that I live for....your ice hockey can't touch curling....broom sweep that ice baby.
And don't get me started on Nascar and the likes...LOL.
Meki, I agree with the spending of money and life.
Uhm... Go Bulls?
Mariners?
Uhm... Ducks?
I don't do sports - hence my girlie figure... LMAO!
But I like to read - I like computer graphics (doing them - of course)... I like my friends and my family... I like games -- making them and playing them.
I like to write (duh) LOL!
Hmmmm what else...
I play darts on a dart team --- its really not limited to rednecks.... *GRIN*
Dunno - I like spending money - unfortunately - I don't have a lot of money right now...
I like life.
Meki
If you give my local high school girls softball team Braves jerseys, my Mets would lost to them in a pickup game.
Nash, you know why Chipper named his kid Shea? The same reason Clemens' sons all start with "K". It's their reminder that they owned certain opponents. Chipper could name his next kid "Citi"
Now I not really into hockey. Growing up in inner city schools, that wasn't exactly THE sport. But I'm with Zelly...lol.
As for football...normally I would say you better not be a Cowboy fan, but it doesn't matter because our NY Giants are the superbowl champs ;)
Ha ha....I guess you ARE required by law to cheer on the Wings.
I'm getting hit from all angles here. Guess I'll keep my mouth shut about my favorite Football Team.
You don't think a girl from Detroit is going to say "Go Penguins" do you?
Oh NO!
Zelly...that was un-called for. LOL...
You got me on that one. My Predators didn't make too far into the playoffs. I could have handled "Go Penguins" alot better.
Ok….who told him? LOL
I couldn’t help being a Braves Fan w/ a Father who was born and raised in ATL.
“Larry Jones” a distant cousin? That’s ridiculous…..Although…Bobby Cox is my uncle. J/K
Believe it or not, I kinda like the Mets. I have seen them play at Shea Stadium 4 times. Isn’t it ironic that Chipper has a kid named Shea?
Hey man, I welcomed you to our forum, introduced you to the crew, and this is how you repay me?
What are you goning to tell me next...that you are a distant cousin of Larry Jones?
Please excuse me now, have a search online to buy a new tv after my remote shot through my current set because we got our *ss handed to us on a broom today.
Shhhhhh....dont tell Steven I'm a Braves Fan.
Right now..my main focus is getting through this IFN treatment and not much interests me at the moment.
Trying to get 3 of the kids through college and keep the 4th (problem child) out of trouble.
I enjoy being on the lake and fishing. I also enjoy flying R/C airplanes and helicopters. I used to fly real airplanes (Private Pilot w/ instrument rating) but that hobby got too expensive so I have not done it in years.
I'm homeschooling my three, I take a history class once a week and I'm in a book club. I also shop...love to shop. And TV...love TV.
