I'm a new member to MedHelp (Hep-C Interest), but I did notice a lot of Hep-B posts in Tagalog.
Most Filipinos can write English, but they often use Tagalog because their English is not perfect -- unless they've been to college in the Philippines in which case they usually write English better than Americans!
US, for marketing reason, is worst and less updated than thrid world countries on tests for liver and hbv so you wont find tests to monitor hbv in US, i dont call them new because europe, chiana, india and so on have fibroscans and hbsag quantification as early as 2004 in some center, these are routine today
without hbsag quantification you can t monitor if you are clearing hbv.hbsag quant has just been approved by fda some weeks ago but still not available.the tests is extremely easy and cheap
without fibroscan you can t monitor if fibrosis is regressing month by month
we are from all over the world
