3) HBcIgM = Negative  this result says you are cronic

the name of the test is alt/ast and fibroscan, fibroscan is an expensive machine so only good hospitals have it.easy to find in europe and rich asian countries, very difficult to find US and UK

Thanks for the prompt reply. Can you please give me the name of the test that will provide me ALT and Fibroscan results. Definitely I will do the HbeAb test, thanks alot. My main goal is to find out if I am Chronic or Acute Hep B

check with lab because some lab use a reverse test, in your case hbe should be positive Reference range <1.0, but ask lab to be sure
it is also important to check the antibody hbeab

if alt are <30 and fibroscan<7kpa you can safely monitor, treatment is not needed/helpful

Hi Stefano, Please help me with my Lab Results:-

1) HBsAg = Positive
2) HBcAb = Positive
3) HBcIgM = Negative
4) HBV DNA = 110 iu/ml or 600 copies/ml
5) HBeAg (ECLIA) , my Result = 0.09 , Reference range <1.0 (Does this mean that I am HBeAg positive or negative)

I have recently discovered that I am Hep B positive (about one month ago), I am not sure how I got it or when I got it. I want to know if I have Acute Hepatitis B or Chronic. What other tests should I do.

the most important test to see if you have liver damage, fibroscan and choose which therapy because you are full of virus:

interferon, 1 year therapy but possible heavy sides, if fibroscan detects cirrhosis not good

tenofovir, most potent hbv drug, no resistance, <1% sides

entecavir, potent hbv drug 1,2% resistance at 6 years but must make hbv genome test because some hbv mutants lam mutants, present without use of lam, make resistance 50% at 5 years.no sides
