the doses are on the medicine box, 1 pill of tdf and 1 pill of etv

vit d3 5000 to 10.000iu per day.if your vitd25oh is less than 30ng/ml start with 10.000iu then test it after one month with serum calcium

which sides effects from tenofovir, it is extremely rare to get sides, maybe they were just immune system clearing hbvdna

also remember about vit d, it is a must for hbv carriers and it also cuts liver cancer to 50% less risk

this is all a mess you can t miss doses with entecavir you may well have resistance already, hbvdna must reach undetectable in few weeks to few months, after 1 year you have failure of the antiviral.you shouldn t have started if you are not able to take the pills every day

also there is no difference between low hbvdna but still detectable and hbvdna in the millions as regards therapy because hbvdna is detectable in the liver even when you are undetectable.you will get almost no benefit to the liver too with an hbvdna which is not zero

at this point you can t go on with entecavir safely even if you remember to take the pills every day.you should combo with tenofovir and then when hbvdna und discontinue entecavir

tenofovir is cheaper and has no resistance even if hbvdna remains detectable

Thank you steff2011, you explain things far more better than my consultant who doesnt even explain at all. I have been on entacavir for a little over a year however i was missing doses frequently in the past... however in the last 8 months i have been consistent and never missed a dose and seen the viral load decreasing. my consultant tried changing me onto tenofovir but after 3 doses i had very strong side efffects and i have gone back to entavir in the past week..... do u recommend i continue tenofovir or entacavir??

it is normal hbvdna goes down, just be carefully that it becomes undetectable by 6-10 months otherwise you risk resistance.in case it doesn t become undetected add on tenofovir until hbvdna und and then discontinue entecavir

symptoms are not related to liver they are certainly due to vitamin d deficiency which is present in all hbvers due to hbv hijacking its pathways to suppress immune system.check your vitd25oh and if less than 50ng/ml take 10.000iu of vit d3 daily until vitd25oh reaches 100ng/ml then find a maintenance dose for this which is usually around 7000iu daily

Thanks guys for the clarification.... i am quite happy that the viral load is going down especially as it was several millions. I have been on entecavir (Braclude)  . my only worry is my constant tiredness and weakness with pains in my feet. my alt/ast are all largely normal and i wonder what i should do to get fit and strong again?

the recent one is of no used, it is a qualitative test, u need a quantitative results like the previous one in iu/ ml.
