Dear Dr Anitha,
Many thanks for your kind advice. I'll let you know the HBV DNA test result & Liver Function Test (LFT) soon. I took LFT twice within a week. During the second test, the ALT and AST levels both declined by half. While having sample drawn for the first LFT, I was in a stressful situation & had no sleep all night along. Does stress affect the enzymes level? Is the LFT test sample drawn without fasting (no eating food)?
Best regards,

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, if it is acute hepatitis B infection, you may not need treatment. For chronic infections antiviral medications help fight the virus and slow its ability to damage your liver. Several medications are available. Your doctor can suggest which medications may be most appropriate for you. Once this is resolved the enzyme levels will normalize. Regards.
