HIV/HBV co-infection

Hello, Sirs

I have been on ART for HIV for three years (TDF+3TC+EFV )regimen. Now I am on undetectable viral load with regard to HIV.

I was also diagnosed with Hepatitis B at the same time.

But my doctor didn´t give me any treatment for Hepatitis B. I want to know one thing_ is HIV ART regimen for me the same as the treatment for HBV?

According to follow-up visits, the liver function tests showed normal.
Should I need to take any extra medications for HBV treatment while on HIV ART?

The ART for HIV is definitely not the same as the treatment you need for Hepatitis. So you need to ask your doctor about separate treatment. However, most people who have hepatitis recover from it and never need treatment. It is possible that you probably recovered from your infection. If you still have Hep B then you are a chronic carrier. Most chronic carriers are not recommended treatment if their virus loads are low. So you should speak to your doctor and find out if you need to get treatment.
