@stefano
I didn't know that Vitamin A is harmful for us CHB people, though I do know about IRON that is why I am taking multivits that do not have iron.
Good thing that coconut oil is VERY abundant here in the Philippines. I can make myself a guinea pig and start consuming coconut oil everyday and do bloodwork in a regular basis. You want me to do this?
I see your point stef, anything from fish potentially contain toxic mercury right?
yes i read the production process of the coconut oil is important. I was looking for more home-based-industry based coconut oil rather than those made in refining factories.
from the book it was recommended to drink the whole milk instead of powdered milk because powedered milk are added with chemicals (i forgot what it is) that give shape to the powder.
Please, do post any link of coconut oil / medium chain saturated fat / lauirc acid research in relevant to hep B if you find one.
Cheers,
joie
you can try but it is useless where do you take hbsag quantitative test if philippines doesn t have it?
how do you measure liver damage if phlippines doesn t have fibroscan?
not possible to do it there
we have fibroscan here :)
and HBSAG quant too, i had 2 tests before of HBSAG quant :)
Where do you take HBsAG quantitative test? What hospital / clinic? How much?
My tests on HBsAG shows only Patient Count and Cut Off Value, I dont know what do you call that.
Where do you take HBsAG quantitative test? What hospital / clinic? How much?
My tests on HBsAG shows only Patient Count and Cut Off Value and if REACTIVE or NOT, I dont know what do you call that.
exist 2 AgHBs test:
- qualitative
- quantitative
Qualitative is NOT measure in UI/ml and have a cut off value
Quantitative is measure in UI/ml
most common test is AgHBs qualitative.
Hi precision labs has HBSAG quant :)
medical city has fibroscan :)
HBSAG quality simply answers YES or NO
HBSAG QUANT, aside from answering YES or NO, it also measures the amt of HBSAG in your blood in IU/ ml
HBSAG quant test is cheap, though fibroscan is expensive
I am starting to take virgin coconut oil now. Not for hepatitis, but for overall health.
I was asking whether anyone has researched whether coconut oil will have negative effect on hepatitis B.
Hi magkano ang Fibroscan test sa Medical City wala sa St.lukes? I'm planning to get more test din include ko nlng cguro yan...does it has age limit? Thanks sa info here about IRON actually multivit + iron yung tinatake ko I'm hoping wala epekto yun... haist!! well Salamat.
You know I took the QUANTITATIVE TEST Ag(HBSag) reactive the UNIT is 98.84 s/n cut off is= 2.0> what was this means? My doctor said I am healthy so I believe in him he didn't ask me to go through more other test yet.
That is not a quantitative test :) What you took is a qualititative test and only answers YES or NO. If you wish to get a HBSAG QUANT test go to hi-precision labs near UN AVE manila. It costs less than Php 500 :)
You should get the ff tests
HBSAG QUANT
HBVDNA count
HBEAG
ANTI-HBS
SGPT
AFP
Ultrasound of liver
and if possible
Fibroscan - currently, only medical city at QC has this in the Philippines and i dont know how much this costs.
yea i payed 500 for that test cause the quali was only 230.
seriously its quantitative i requested twice pa nga eh. Ang UNIT ba kayo nag base ng level?
cut off of HBSAG QUANT is 0.25 IU/ ml :)
the result will be the amt of Hepatitis B Surface ANtigen in your blood in IU/ ml :)
sa hospital lab ko ng Doctors hospital pina test yan... tpos pinapili nila ako quali or quanti... so quantitative nlng pra makita ko yung level. Yan lng naka state sa results ko. Alangan nmn magloko ng result tong mga hospital.Yung quali is only 230php
Pls dont get irritated or angry, miscommunication only :)
Anyway, if that's the case then that means u have 98.84 IU/ml HBSAG QUANT in your blood :)
That's pretty low :)
really? @@ kaya ba yung doctor ko prang wala lang wag daw mag panic..yung una kung test 118.67 ung nasa unit count. salamat ill make sure marami akong tatanung sa doctor ko next visit kasi sayang yung consultation mahal din eh.
can you post the actual result here of your HBSAG quant exam?
letter-per-letter, word-per-word? :)
and how much and who's your doctor :)
we did but both are not suitable for a damaged liver, cod liver oil has toxic metals in it and too much vit A, both are higly toxic for the liver because it has more vit a and metals than dha,epa (omega3) and vit d
one of the first options i investigated for vit d and the worst choice for liver diases
coconut oil, this may be partially useful to damage hbsag but i have no idea if it can reach measurable levels of action on hbsag (hbsag is mainly made of cholesterol).the source of this oil is important because it is not easy to find pure and safe on the market, it may tend to become rancid easily but i did not investigated this well enough, maybe there are good sources
a prat from these things we should investigate colostrum instead, fresh colostrum has gcmaf and other immune activating substances but only the fresh colostrum can have effects, so until now i have found no source of this even if it was part of our food culture in my region
they used to make cheese from it and used it as natural drug but i am afraid everything has got lost and only cow owners can have the possibility to obtain fresh colostrum
pharmacies sell it in powder but it has no effect as powder
