hbsag guided extension of peg on hbeag- responders

http://medinform.bg/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Medinform-29-2015.pdf

extremely interesting study, for the members of the community extended peg is not new at all, few members cleared already years ago by using this approach but it is good to see it also on a study with more patients

extension of peg makes sense anyway when there is good response, little sides, because as we already know from old studies, the strongest effect of peg is the second year and not within 48weeks

definitely yes

i also remember pisa researchers told me of a case in their adv+peg trial, the patient with the highest hbsab response (and of course hbsag loss) had almost no decline of hbsg in 48weeks while he had an increadible response in the second year with hbsag loss and very high hbsab

Yes, but its a rare case, most seroconverters have nice HBsAg dropdown during 48 weeks.
He also get Zadaxine after loosing HBsAg ?

Very interesting article, it's a pity that not many participants and that they haven't tried for people with HBsAg for example 1000 too.
So as we see extension makes sense for people with sharp HBsAg decline during therapy or HBsAg < 100 at week 48.
I wonder if it would make sense to add Zadaxine for those ones from the trial who already have low antibodies ?
