Hep B and GNC

Hi,

I hope someone could help answer my queries.

I am currently a Hep B carrier, have been going for regular ultra sound and blood test check-up. I am wondering if I can consume GNC products like mass gainer or protein powders? Will this prolong intake of supplements further aggravate my Hep B or liver?

Thank you

Regards
Joe

Just a question, if you have heb b, do they want you to stop working out?  that is my life working out, running, doing adventure races so I would have to stop doing that?

I am so happy to come across someone with the same question as myself. I guess it would probably be best to ask your doctor but I was wondering the exact same thing. I use to take protein shakes from GNC before I was diagnosed with Hep B. I would like to continue taking the shakes and working out but my doctor told me I shouldn't do much heavy lifting. He says it would cause my liver to work to hard. I would love to hear more info regarding your great question.

Are you an inactive or active carrier?

Have you always had normal LFT's?

If you are an inactive carrier with no significant liver damage , I can't imagine those supplements will be any worse than someone who doesn't have Hep.

But if you do try to use them, get dr's approval and perform regular LFT's.
