My mistake...she is chronic and likely has had it since childhood (she was born in Taiwan). My tests have shown I don't have it...tested twice, 6 months apart. No sex during that time..UGH.
If I get the series of 3 Hep B vaccinations (I think over a 7 month period), does that mean no sex during that period as well? then after the 7 months, test myself to make sure I have the resistance?
Yes if she has had this since birth then she is definitely chronic. This means she will not clear the virus. She will need to monitor it regulalry and keep eye on her HBV DNA. As for you it is vital that you go and get vaccinated. This will keep you safe. Go see doc as soon as possible.

if she is in fact acute, then it was a recent exposure ....... sorry to burst ur bubble dude. if she had it since a child, it would be chronic.... confront her and ask doc for the hep b panel , it will determine if she is acute or chronic.
yes. do get yourself vaccinated. and after the course of vaccinations (7 months from the first dose), do test and see if you have developed resistance.
Her case is CHRONIC, not Acute.
