Just would like to share with you one of the Doc (gastroenterologist) in india started to treat patients by analyzing HBsAg levels without DNA quatification, Can you comment how we get rough idea about DNA level after knowing HBsAg levels i am sure it can be evaluated
but hbvdna pcr does not detect hbv infection, you can have hbvdna not detactable and be infected, almost all of us chronic carriers have hbvdna undetactabe during our life.
hbvdna is useful only during therapies today because it has little meaning since the infection of hbv goes on inside cells too, not only in blood.
the tests for hbv infection are hbsag, hbsab, hbcab, these are pretty stupid and cheap tests and if lab is good ready same day few hours after blood draw
It means that by this test they can not detect any virus. So in terms of this testing environment it is negative.
