Liver enzymes cause ovarian cyst?

I've just had an ultrasound due to elevated liver enzymes and HBV.  They found a cyst during the ultrasound...however not on my liver but they said ovarian cyst. My doctor explains lightly that the cyst was due to the elevated liver enzymes.  I'm very confused because i thought the cyst would make more sense being on the liver  ( not in or near my right ovary) and to be the cause of the high liver enzymes. When i had my ultrasound i swore that it was abdominal and not pelvic...unless my ovaries are near my liver? Should i ask for an second ultrasound?  And my doctor's explaination is not making sense to me for some reason. Can someone please explain? Thank you!

Btw, He also informed me today that viral loads is 100 mil.  Does that mean highly infectious. All these numbers seems impossible.

the increase of your liver enzymes has nothing to do with your ovarian cysts. there are factors that can cause ovarian cysts like if you have previous history of ovarian cysts,  Irregular menstrual cycles , Increased upper body fat distribution , Early menstruation (11 years or younger), Infertility . Hypothyroidism or hormonal imbalance and if your on hormonal therapy

Sorry, I meant HBV antiviral therapy.I did some research on the Intron A (Interferon aplha)  and Pegasys (peginterferon)  injections and on some of the pills and the side effects doesnt sound so bad. I'll start a new  question on this topic if i can't find any more info. (http://www.hepb.org/patients/hepatitis_b_treatment.htm)

I didnt realize that it could go that high. Makes me feel better...by billions! Thanks again!

I'm not sure what the connection would be b/n liver enzymes and ovarian cysts.  Never heard of it.  Ovarian cysts are not unusual and generally go away on their own.  For now, focus on getting your Hep B under control and then deal with the ovaries if need be.

Your viral load is completely possible, its a number that can go into the billions and given your very high ALT, I find the viral load believable.

Please update us.

Hi again!

Yes I am HBeAG positive.  Initially my blood test shows
     BILI TOT    1.3 mg/dl
     AST          936 U/L
     ALT         1296 U/L.
     GGT           94 U/L

My last blood test taken two weeks ago shows that the enzyme level is decreasing so thats good news for me! :)
   BILI TOT      1.7 mg/dl
   AST            785 U/L
   ALT           1136 U/L

My doc only mentions the quantity to be in the hundred mils..I didnt obtain that paperwork from him yet.

I will be seeing a specialist on Sept. 2 and he said theres a big chance that i might need to get on meds.  Which i think  i need more info on.  Have you or anyone tried those meds and how are the side effects?

I greatly appreciate every info and help! Thanks again!

Are you HBeAg positive?  If yes high VL is possible.  What are other lab readings?

Don't know enough about your cyst question.  Sorry.
