Medication, when it wasn't necessary?

Hello, I have a question:
I have chronic Hep b and was prescribed antivirals based on my hepb dna more than quadrupling in a space of a couple of months from 150000 iu/ml to 700000iu/ml.
Liver stiffness was 7.6kpa
Liver function normal
No symptoms
Lead healthy lifestyle.

I wonder now if medication was really necessary?
I also wonder if the dna load more than quadrupling in such a short time was actually a seroconversion process?
And what does this means for the future?

Actually the headache and chills have subsided and appetite is better today than yesterday.
Does etv affect immune system?
Is it at all possible that people can come off this med successfully?
I know that there's chance of hbv coming back exacerbated but whats the actual data?

The hair loss and sleeplessness since the start and still on going.
The other side effects (fatigue, skin problems, cough) in the past few months
At first I thought I got the flu because I started to gets chills, headaches, loss of appetite and subsequent weight loss too but this has been going on the for much longer than a normal flu would so now I'm worried its the medication

I am on entecavir and in the beginning I had some side effects also. I notice my fasting blood glucose has risen from 85 , 90 to 98 on my last blood test. This puts me close to prediabetic range even though I was never close before. Every other blood test seems fine, but I had a hard time sleeping in the beginning but gotten use to it. Sex drive seems to have increased even though I am male and we are always thinking about sex. I have been on ETV for 6 months now and so far ok. When did your side effects start occurring ?

Thank you for your replies.
I am taking entecavir.
Side effects from start were some hair loss and sleeplessness.
Then recently I have been feeling very fatigued and very recently I have been having flu like symptoms which has been ongoing for over 2 weeks - as well as a rash which comes and goes, itchy skin (which might be due to change in cold weather I'm not sure), and just extreme fatigue.
My latest liver function shows slightly elevated ALT. Blood count is normal
My doctor thinks its unlikely side effects would occur now, having been taking etv for 2 years already.
What do you think? Do any of you take this med and how well do you tolerate it?

I am also interested in what side effects you have and what kind of medication are you on? Did the side effects start immediately or after a certain amount of time.

have been for the past couple of years.....

i read wrong, only couple of years so no effect on hbsag probably, but you subscribed to no cirrhosis for sure

it was necessary for your liver damage 7.6kpa starts to be relvant damage and from 8kpa hcc risk is increased.

with the tdf or etv you are taking you avoid hcc and cirrhosis, but if you take nucs from 10 years what nucs are you taking?by 10 years hbsag gets low on etv or tdf and can be cleared easily by peg add on, what is hbsag quant?

I have already taken meds and have been for the past couple of years.
The above test results were just before I started meds but I am trying to understand whether the doctor prescribing based on these results was not necessary.
I feel like a prisoner to the meds more so as I'm having some side effects

Known for about 10 years.
What were your fibroscan results?

My Dr started to put me on medication after she figured out of my fibroscan results, so i think you need to start a treatment as in a long term it regresses your 7.6kpa fibrosis. IMO
