Not Scared Anymore...THANKS...

I just want to say thanks to everyone and esp. Joni - through that link, and searching, searching - last night finally found a support group for HBsAg - people just "like me." Thank you Thank You Thank You - Thanks To Everyone also. Because last night I finally had that cry I dreaded, I felt "whupped" because the doctors around here had no info.- It was like I was on an edge thinking to jump off or jump back. Not that I would be that "stupid" ;*) but that awful feeling. And ttoday I actually feel like myself again, those fears, worries, is history, which I hated anyway. My appt. is Jan 26th, I will give you an update. No matter what happens now, the sun will never be behind the clouds. From my heart you all are the most special people. Thanks again.

Right on

I have focused an inordinate amount of time on this topic:  what is the harm of 2-butoxythanol and why don't the doctors find it when people come in to see them? ... since June 2002

If I had not been so focused, I NEVER would have figured it out
www.valdezlink.com/generic.htm#8 (check these clues for an acute attack of autoimmune hemolytic anemia)  This significance of this, is that it is the FATIGUE doctors don't find. And it is underneath any liver or kidney or glandular or immune or ... other ailments ... that pile on top of it:  from day one to always, unless God gives a miracle

My why ...  http://home.gci.net/~blessing/pages/who.htm

I started with a chemical used during the cleanup of the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup when someone in my family was harmed by it.  The chemical causes hemoytic anemia, so why haven't doctors found it when people go to the doctor (still haven't found it in this young man & he's seeing one of the best oncologist you could find anywhere)

It led me to find out that a lot more is involved with a lot of other groups of people, too.  Not the least of which is 40% of the first gulf war troops who have come down with 'the gulf war syndrome'  But the civilian name for this is ... http://home.gci.net/~blessing/pages/whatis.htm

I have heard of Hepatitis C and of autoimmune hepatitis in the group of people harmed by 2-butoxyethanol.

A gulf war vet shared that his daughter at age 10 died Dec 03 of autoimmune hepatitis.  Her immune system was attacking her liver;  one month after diagnosis her liver shut down and then her other organs.  He wanted to know if other gulf war vets had this happen to them.

Another couple shared that they lost their 15 day old baby girl this way.  I suspect that it is from at least one parent being strongly exposed to this teratogen.

Thanks for the suggestion.

There isn't one.  People are unaware when they've been harmed by this chemical.  When troops come down with 'flu-like' symptoms the military thinks they should get another virus shot ... not stop the chemical exposure, etc. etc

People who are harmed by this have liver tumors and they have a lot of other harm, basically the package of harm you would find with 'gulf war syndrome' CFS or CFIDS ... or maybe they haven't gotten that far.

Liver is one of the targeted organs.
So I suspect some of you are here, too

But I do have a question.  If someone were moving into a rental where someone with Hepatitis had lived, would there be a possiblilty of coming down with it?  How is it spread?

You appear to have a strong concern regarding chemical exposures and their potential consequenses. This is a Hepatitis Forum, set up by the owners specifically for patients, relatives and friends dealing with hepatitis. It involves mostly questions about hepatitis C and it's treatments. Perhaps your time and energy would be better spent directing your thoughts and concerns in a forum where people are dealing with the very specific chemical exposures you want to discuss, as opposed to a hepatitis setting.

I'm glad to hear you are more calmed down today!  I know so well because you explained how I felt last year after being diagnosed.  Sometimes the fear of the not knowing,,,Can really get us and once we take a some time to let the initial shock absorb and then begin to educate ourselves,,,,there does seem to be more of a calmness. Anyways,,,,I'm rambling but so glad you feel better and you do have us,,,you know!

Sometimes with hepatitis is depression and fatigue that comes from a chemical that damages the liver ... and a lot of other body systems:  sort of like the package of CFS, CFIDS or 'gulf war syndrome  http://home.gci.net/~blessing/pages/whatis.htm

Think back to what has changed when severe depression, cough, headache, etc started.  A new job?  A new project?  A new person in your life?  Change that & the depression, cough, headache may subside as well as the other effects hault, too

Ask doctor to check for autoimmune hemoltyic anemia.  To look at the red blood cells.  Are they ragged and beat up?  Are you making new red blood cells at faster than normal rate?  Is there blood in urine?

I would expect some exposure to n-butyl ethers The one I have focused on is 2-butoxyethanol, but it goes by lots of other names.  There is lots of information on the internet.  Search it out.  Everyone should be educated about it.  If it doesn't affect you, it most likely will affect someone you care about.  Neurologists often notice that the eyes are red (Eyes are a primary route of exposure, but the current research by the experts doesn't know that yet)

Overview of info I've found
