Is Fibroscan carried out in empty stomach?

Can anyone tell me the directions which are to be followed before going for a fibroscan of the liver?Is it necessary to be without food/water for about 3 hrs. before carrying out the test?

Yes, my doctor told me not to eat or drink after midnight before my fibroscan which was to be done in the morning.

At fortis it is Rs.1900 and hbv dna test at srl(under zydus assistance) is Rs.1050 only.
