Peg treatment

Hi  everyone excuse my grammar.

I had a checkup with my doctor yesterday and I asked me if I want to go on peg intereferon even though I don't need treatment. He said it can possibly clear me since my viral is low (30% chance) but he did warn me that the side effects are pretty harsh. So now I'm stuck, I'm due for another blood test March and I'm hoping I see a decrease in load so maybe there's a chance of naturally curing it?

If I decide to take the treatment is there something I could do to lessen the side effects?

My DNA is lower than yours. I'm between 40 and 150 IU/ML. I'm hoping to go to Mexico or Europe soon to do my SAG quant and then decide if peg is something that I want to do. 48 weeks of potentially being sick is a long time.

If it is bellow 1000 IU than you are in good shape...but most people have it bigger than 1000.

yes, hbsag can be lower than dna, because it's different unit 1 IU of hbv dna is not the same as 1 IU of HBsAg.

Yes in my case it is. I have hbsag 123 iu/ml and hbvdna between 2000 and 30000 iu/ml (fluctuate)

I swallow every two years and my FibroScan Baraclude for treating 11.4 kpa kpa 7.7 and 16 months later. HBsAg was in my quantitative (July 2015) 16 582 iu ml is this noormal or high or low

Yes .But what can be the cause of this :
1-Patients coinfected with satellite virus (HDV)
2-Patients combining ART (antiretroviral therapy ) with natural medicines
3-Patients suffering of hypertensive on treatment that combine their treatment with ART or natural medicines.
4-Patients on direct natural medicines. Yes ,you may feel good and be ready to take  peg when your hbsag quanti drops  , but weigh the consequences very well . You may have a low hbsag ,but developed fibrosis , or damage your liver . Natural supplements are good because they are non toxic.

My Vitamin D is at 50  Do I need to increase my Vitamin D to 90? What do you recommend Steph2011? Liquid Vitamin D or pills?

Should I wait 2 more months to see if my immune system is clearing it before taking interferon?

I changed my diet, I take more vitamins and I try not to stress.

yes and you also need to check intact parathormone because vitd25oh doesn t show real levels of vitamin d, we can have a lot of resistance on vitamin d receptor vdr or maybe a lot of vitamin d used by immune system or the body when using peg or immune modulators, so better have a clear picture by intact pth too

its the same a slong as the pills are made of olive oil and not powder

Hi faithhopegod,
Based on my limited knowledge I would advice you not o begin any treatment. Your hbv status doesn't need any treatment; hence why risk all the sides with peg-interferon, with the potential possibility of increased viral replication and flares after the end of the treatment that would commit you to life long antiretroviral medication?
Please do not rush to treatment; just keep on monitoring; try to live healthy lifestyle, and live your life as if you do not have hbv. In the meantime, let's all hope the current drug researches like birinapant, therapeutic vaccine ABX203, ARC520, replicor, etc would soon bear fruit.

"Live your life as if you do not have hbv" That is not possible. I don't understand why doctors are waiting for this virus to attack, it doesn't make sense to me.

We have to push a cure as patients with hep c push for their cure. Why are we silent?

without hbsag quant it is impossible to know response

Stef, do you know where in Canada they offer this? They do not offer in the US but certain parts of Canada are only a few hours away from me (Mexico is out of the question)

i dont know i guess canada can t be as corrupt as US but just a guess.it is out of this world not to make a test, tests need of approval from nobody it is your choice to have it and pay for it

but again the easiest way is to ship samples to advanced healthcare countries to have it
