Please help

Hi all -

I had sex with four women in last 2months.  The latest being 1month back..

During the last sex event she gave me oral sex without condom, I kissed her and also during vaginal sex my condom broke for 5min(not sure maybe 10min).. Other three exposure it was protected.

After that I am afraid of Hepatitis B infection

I am under tremendous stress and anxiety and guilty for last 2weeks. Its been 2 weeks since I slept properly.. I feel like completly lost in world and I dont know what to do with life..

I have following symptoms, please assess
1) Slight itching in the hip, hands, buttocks, thigh. My doctor(dermatologist) told I had fungal attack in my buttocks..
2) I feel tired..I feel to have joint pains.. When I dont concentrate on these, I dont feel the pain..
3) Eye colour, Urine colour and skin colour is normal.
4) No pain in abdomen.
5) Appetite is normal..

Questions:
1) What are the risks of this event to get infected?
2) What are risks of getting infection from saliva?
3) What are risks of getting infection from vaginal fluids?
4) When to get tested for Hep B with blood test? After how many months the results are conclusive? I heard 3months
5) I am 25 years old. Question is: Is it 95% of adults clear infection and become immune to the virus? Am I come in this category.

Please throw some light to my questions and give me some peace..

Thanks for your advice..

you had hbv recently and cleared it since both antibodies are very high, hbsab 500 and hbcab igm 158, congratulation you are immune

if you want extra security even in the very rare events you might check hbsag which 99% is already negative and hbvdna pcr for occult hbv, sensibility of hbvdna must be till 1-10iu/ml and you will find it in specialized hospitals

in general you can go on with your life you are immune, did you check for hiv and hcv too?

by the way acute hbv makes no liver damage dispite very high alt

I had got my HBSAG test result and it is negative
Observed value        Cut-off value
0.023                      0.073

Does this result mean,I am immune and go for HEP B vaccination?

My doctor was against me going for PCR test, so I didnt do it.

I didnt understand this. What is this value 1-10iu/ml?
sensitivity of the test

Do you mean to say even after my antibodies are high liver damage is less
no you have no damage at all, it takes years to damage the liver you have already recovered

6) Should I need to wait for 3months to get tested.. The tests I am doing now is this enough?

Your words and Cajim words are really encouraging.. These tests are taken after 1months(28 days) of latest exposure..

1) However doctor and microbilogist I have visited told me that my HBsAB value 10(>500 mUI/ml) which is normal not positive i.e. EQUIVOCAL GTor=8 - LTor=12. Is this values still good enough to get immune?

I had HIV(PCR DNA, p24 antigen, Elisha HIV1+2, HIV1+2 antibody) tests after three weeks of exposure and all turned negaive..

2) Should I need to go for HCV tests even it is rare through sex?

3) Can my antibody levels are high because I had 1 dose of Hep B injection 8 or 10years before? or more chance because I got infected and mostly cleared(think so) recently.. Coz why I am asking this is I smoke around 10 ciggarette's a day.. Now stopped for last 1week..

4) stefano170669: hbvdna pcr for occult hbv, sensibility of hbvdna must be till 1-10iu/ml.

5) stefano170699: by the way acute hbv makes no liver damage dispite very high alt

As advised I will go for the HBsAg and hbvdna pcr tests..

1) Your advise is to get tested for HBsAg(HBV antigen test), if it is negative then I am immune and I can get vaccinated. I already had my Antibody tests(Both HBS antibody and IGM) and it came with equivocal value of 10(Which means my antibody levels are good in my body)..

--If you have +HBsAB, you are save from HBsAg.

2) The link I have sent you, I hope you had time to read at it..

--It would not be surprising different ways for curing HBV exist.  I am not familiar with this one.

I dont know how to appreciate for your comments.. I have gone through your threads from archives.. The time you dedicate is amazing.. I dunno how to appreciate..

Let me re-phrase to see my understanding is correct..

1) Your advise is to get tested for HBsAg(HBV antigen test), if it is negative then I am immune and I can get vaccinated. I already had my Antibody tests(Both HBS antibody and IGM) and it came with equivocal value of 10(Which means my antibody levels are good in my body)..

2) The link I have sent you, I hope you had time to read at it..

I picked it up from news that Dr.Ravi Prasad MD of himalaya drug co(One of top eight healthcare companies in India) said that they have found a cure for Hep B and it is a herbal medicine. He further added that this will be unique medicine in the world that kills virus.

I dont know how much that is true but this company very respected in India and they have high reputation here. Since the words came from Dr.Ravi Prasad I believe it is true and they are planning to sell the medicine by next year globally.

I pray that this is true and hope medicine is circulated soon..

Then have your HBsAg tested, if -, you don't have HBV; have your HBsAB tested, if -, then get vaccinated, else you are immune.

No.. I have never tested for HBsAg before.. The only tests I have gone through are above two tests.

I assume HBsAg is antigen testing isn't it?

--What is your lastest HBsAg?

1) Do you mean when I had latest vaccination..It was 8 or 10 years back. Just 1shot of injection. I am not sure about your question. What is HBsAg? I think this is with regards to Antigen testing. Is there any separate test for HBsAg like IGG please advise? I can go for it

2) Can you please explain what you mean by "not sure" for my test results questions 3 & 4 in the above thread?

Did you had a chance to go through the link I have given above?

1) Can you please explain me test results.. I have put it again as I haven't put the values correctly above

--You don't have HBsAB+

2) I had Hep-B 1shot of vaccination 8 or 10years back. Doctor and microbiologist said that the observed value is high and the reason is you had 1dose of hep B vaccination 8 or 10 years back.. He said to take confirmatory test after 2.5months.Doctor say 99.9% value is high because of my injection. And I dont have any symptoms now apart from the ones I said in the initial thread.. Please provide your valuable comments on this?

--What is your lastest HBsAg?

3) Also can you please explain me in which range(Reference value) my observed value falls?

--Not sure.

4) Also please comment on my IGM test as well?

--Not sure.

I have gone for 1) ANTI HBs antibody and 2) IGM tests.. The tests are taken after 1month after last exposure

Could you please interpret the results

ANTI HBs antibody test:

PARAMETER                         OBSERVED VALUE             REFERENCE VALUE
ANTI HBs Antibody
(ELFA)                                      >500 mUI/ml                           Negative =8 - 12

I had Hep-B 1shot of vaccination 8 or 10years back. Doctor and microbiologist said that the observed value is high and the reason is you had 1dose of vaccination 8 or 10 years back.. He said to take confirmatory test after 2.5months

IGM test:

PARAMETER                         OBSERVED VALUE             REFERENCE VALUE

Immunoglobulinn - M
(Nephelometry)                             158 mg/dl                       new born(4 days) 5-30
                                                                                        less than 2yrs     43-239
                                                                                        less than 12yrs   50-260
                                                                                        Adult(20-60yrs)    40-230
                                                                                        >60yrs           30-360mg/dl

Please advise on the test results..

I mean if the infection in acute stage and I go for hepatitis B vaccination will it create immune/antibodies and clear virus..

--The worst for the vaccination is ineffectiveness:  if you already HBV->inefffective, no HBV->may get you immune.

as long as hbsag is negative you can get immune by vaccine, hbsag may appear in a couple of weeks or after 6 months, infection takes months to clear complitely even in acute stage
the virus never clear complitely from liver even after acute hbv and clearance (some clear it complitely after decades) but if you have to take chemiotherapy or a transplant in the future the virus can reappear because of immune system suppression, vaccine might prevent this

1) What are the risks of this event to get infected?

--Next to blood.

2) What are risks of getting infection from saliva?

3) What are risks of getting infection from vaginal fluids?

--More than saliva.

4) When to get tested for Hep B with blood test? After how many months the results are conclusive? I heard 3months

make vaccine as soon as possible, infection makes no synthoms (symthoms are ultra rare) and doesn t appear in the blood for months (window period is more than 6 months), since there are many infected that dont know you must get vaccine anyway, although in your area is easier you already had hbv

check hbsab after 1 month from first vaccine dose
