Questions for Stef on Simvastatin

Hi Stef,

Sequel to your advice on my other thread on Heptech products, I just bought a sachete of Simvasatin 40g, as recommended by you as capable of lowering my hbsag of 5,700.

Meanwhile, while reading through the note pack attached to it, I saw an express caution by the manufacturer not to use this drug, if, among other things, one has liver problems or has an history of liver problem.

Now, I'm confused, if the maker of the product can advise not to use this if one has liver problems, isn't this contradictory to my goal?

Please enlighten me.

Does this now mean the maker of this drug don't know this? because the MANUFACTURER themselve put as caution in the attached sheet: DONT USE IF YOU HAVE LIVER PROBLEMS.

I am finding this scary, because I wonder why drug manufacturer will tell one not to use its drug for something when research actually says teh opposite.

I am confused.

yes it is.we think they wrote it because sim is extremely cheap out of patent drug.

see old posts about it with links to liver experts, sim on the contrary weaken hbv, prevents fibrosis and cirrhosis, is beneficial on end stage cirrhosis to prevent portal hypertension, prevents hcc.this is what trials found while what they say on the drug is not supported by trials and not supported by liver experts

the high dose have had extremely rare rise of alt which dont mean liver damage as we now know, in any case just as a extra safety check alt/ast and creatinine monthly, if you get an alt rise we must then check if it is immune activation and lowering of hbvdna and hbsag or drugs toxicity and this is simple if alt rise a lot (over 200) and hbsag and hbvdna rise or stay stable for long it is drug toxicity on the contrary it is immune activation

we dont know yet for sure if hbsag gets lowered for anybody but virus gets weaker for sure
