Thanks for your replies on the HCV forum.
I’m feeling a lot calmer than I was yesterday after I got the call from the Dr’s office. When they first told me that my ALT had gone back up into the 60’s, my initial thought was that my HCV was coming back and also wondered if it was HBV related. I guess that is not completely out of the question, but it is much more likely that it is related to the Advil I have been taking.
When I was still on Peg/Riba combo tx for HCV, the Dr allowed me 2 Percocet a day which worked great and my ALT stayed in the 20’s. Now that I’m back at work, I don’t want to take the Percocet because I have a lot of driving to do so I switched to Advil during the day and look what happened to my ALT.
I’m trying to cut back on the Advil so hopefully the next blood test will show my ALT coming back down and Platelets going back up.
I’m gonna try to stay on the Pegasys until March which will give me 48 weeks worth of shots. Hopefully after I stop taking the IFN and the weather warms back up, I will not need to take anymore medicine for the aches and pains.
I’ll let everyone know how the next set of blood work turns out. Wish me luck.
I just had to give my 2 cents on the C. You hang in there and think positive.
I checked out your post but I don't know what to think. I know Advil can raise your ALT. Going to go see if you've had any responses over there. Best.
