not to menthion those easy lab tests are done at pharmacy in europe, no need of labs
sorry can t help, US sounds like a fascist country to me, in europe you are free to choose anything in regards to your health and need no prescriptions for blood tests if you pay for them, prescriptions are for free of charge tests
look for another doctor, from what you are posting he is extrmely ignorant on everything hbv and ast/alt meaning in particular.liver damage can be detected by fibroscan only (not available in US), ast/alt have no correlation to liver damage, just browse the forum there is a study just posted about it
this is red yeast rice, no prescription, no sides, available in italy.we have used me and my sister, ldl and tot chol down 50% in 4 weeks.we tried it to see conncection between hbsag and cholesterol, we found no correlation

biostatine
monacolin k (the most active ingredient of red yeast rice and needs to be standardized) content 3mg per capsule
ALT elevation is a concern to me. This may trigger the start of antiviral by my doctor. Where can I get blood tests not ordered by my doctor? I seached online and didn't find private labs near where I live, massachusetts, US.
all those claims where made when US drug makers had patents for statins but today they are generics and also the fraud of saying statins/red yeast are toxic have been foundthose claims had no studies and no real clinical case reports.today we know that toxicity of statins is much lower than aspirin, alt elevation are found on very low percentages like 3-5% and not due to liver toxicity, also monitoring of alt is not suggested anymore
anyway you may check ast/alt monthly since very cheap and if they get to more than 100 you can stop sttins/red yeast rice
no it is not toxic at all and statins are not toxic too, there may be ast/alt elevation but this doesn t mean liver damage or toxicity
use serch box so you will find all posts with link to studies about statins and hbv, the latest report is that statins have shown to prevent and lower liver cancer on hbv carriers and fibrosis/cirrhosis
