best u can do is to check igm if it is positive then you are chronic
From what i know you have to check - anti hbc lg m, if this is positive , you are acute , if negative then its chronic
Thanks but you just both gave opposing answers..... I believe it is chronic as I tested positive on both HBsAg and HBC (not sure if it was Igm or not)
Melcul is correct. Most infections occurred through mother to child transmission at birth. Most people with chronic Hepatitis B experienced no symptoms until it is late in the disease cycle. Consult a doctor who may order more tests such as Liver Functions test and hbvdna.
So it is likely if I was positive on both (and I had the hbc Igm) then I am acute not chronic (yet) ?
You have to test your HBcAb IGM. At the moment, your HBcAb is positive, but if HBcAb igm is also positive, then your infection is most likely to be acute.
Thank you; I will take more tests to confirm, much appreciated
sorry for the mistake I was going to write negative instead.
